Because he says "imagine no religion"

Its upsetting to those that worship God.

Im Christian and I look deep into that song,I dont feel its about having no God,but more about peace and understanding for all religions.Seeing that alot of wars and death are caused directly or indirectly by religion.

It's not by the Beatles, only one, John Lennon. Just about all wars have been fought over either religion or posessions. I think John saying that by doing away with religion and posessions, pretty much Marxist, and therefore "bad or demonic" values, that we could eliminate war. I'm a huge John Lennon fan, and Imagine is one of his finest works, but I don't agree with the values expressed in the song. Even if religion and posessions weren't worth fight for (and they are), how successful have communist countries been at staying out of wars? It's a nice fantasy, but it simply doesn't work that way.

the beatles didn't right that nor did they perform it. It was written by John leneon of the beattles (solo)
I have never heard this rumor. this song has a great expression of the 70s and hippie era.... not demons

i don't think the line "imagin theres no heaven" is bad or demonic...I think hes implying that what if there was noo right or wrong thing to do on earth... and no eternal damnation if you do something slightly wrong. I think its beautiful. and the christians WHO CAN NOT UNDERSTAND THIS CAN SHOVE IT.

think of it this way..... there are wars fought for religion. thats what he ment no religion no pointless wars, just peace.

When it first started getting airplay all the "short-hairs" were against the "long-hairs" (rednecks vs. hippies...pot smokers vs. alkies...peace activists vs war-mongers) MY town didn't tolerate us hippies much so they all thought ANYTHING done by ANY long-hairs was demonic. That and they couldn't forget what John Lennon (who did Imagine) said at one time that the Beatles were "more popular than God" again, taking it out of context. John Lennon was a genius.

Because of the line "Imagine there's no heaven," I suppose. People take things out of context and don't see the big picture a lot of times.

I haven't heard that but, my guess would be the no religion and living for today message with no consequence for the actions theory. Some people have a real problem with no doom and gloom to keep them in line.

Mostly because of its anti-religious tone.

No Heaven, no religion.

Of course, everything is done by the devil when some religous group doesn't agree with it.
