Great question! Why do liberals champion themselves as the "people's party" yet so strongly support the social welfare system (which is merely modern day slavery?) More liberal "doublethink". I am neither rich nor am I "trailer trash"....and since I do not agree with nor support the political platforms of the Democrat Party, I am reduced to a stereotype and pigeonholed by senseless, and very mean name calling! But they are the ones that believe in fair rights and equality for all .... all those who agree with their agenda that is! Rock on man!

No we think that Bush supports the rich..

And that lower middle class people are fooled by Bush and the other conservatives into thinking that their policies actually help them.. When in fact they kill the middle class and support the top 1%

Many Bush supporters are labled as "trailer trash" because they are:
1) From the South
2) illiterate
3) Don't even have a GED
4) Don't understand separation of church and state
5) Watch FOX NEWS
6) Are rasict bigots that hate gays, blacks and immigrants
7) Are backwards
8) superstitous christians that are waiting for the rapture
9) can't even spell science never mind understand it
10) drunk rednecks

Not doublethink. Poor phrasing on specific statements. Demographically (I.e., what the numbers say, not my opinon) the leadership of what remains of Bush's support are wealthy--or at least whit, upper-middle class.

The overwhelming majority of the rest--and of Bush's supporters--are below average in education, income, and status--and most are also white, "redneck" or the equivalent.

In other words, teh statistics say the labling of Bush supporters as either greed rich or poor white trash is pretty much accurate.

At a guess (and please note, I don't agree with either characterization)....

Their argument could be that Bush supporters as a whole are rich, at least on average, but the people who do the most talking and are the most vocal are poor and over-compensating.

I don't agree with the mindset. I'm just guessing at a possible explanation.
