Grapefruits are in the family of citrus fruits, and are delicious, sometimes a bit tangy, but a sprinkle of sugar will help make it sweeter. It is very healthy eaten as a snack or as part of your breakfast. Anyway you want to eat it, it can be peeled or cut in half or in quarters.
Steps
1. Be careful in picking it. When picking out a grapefruit, make sure that it is not too squishy. In fact, you want them to be pretty hard, this way they ripen in your house. Though if you want to eat it that day... make sure it's not squishy but it gets slightly under pressure if you squeeze it in your hand.

Cut the fruit
Let it ripen before use. After you've let it sit a couple days in your kitchen, you take it and cut it down the middle. Make sure you cut it in the right place, otherwise it will be very hard to eat. There should be two little knubs sticking out on either side of it, you want to cut in the middle of these.
4. Cut the edges. Now you should have two halves of a grapefruit. Now cut around the edges of the little triangle type things you should see in there, and around the edge of the grapefruit. This will make the fruit a lot easier to dig out with a spoon.
5. Voilà! You have an edible grapefruit.
Tips
* If it's a little too sour for you, try sprinkling some sugar on top. Also, after you've eaten out all of the fruit, you can squeeze the rest of the juice into a cup or bowl and drink it. It's very yummy.
* Maple sugar is also very delicious on top.
* Add a cherry in the center of a half and a sprig of mint on the side, to dress it up.
Warnings
* Don't try to eat the tougher parts of the grapefruit that are kind of like the walls for the inside parts. Well, you can if you want but they don't taste very good and are hard to chew.

peel it and bite into it like an apple. or slice it in half from the side, then get a grapefruit knife (curves up at the end) and slice all the way around the half where the fruit meets the peel, then slice from the center to the peel on each side of the little dividers. Sprinkle with sugar and eat with a spoon. Be sure when you finish eating all of the little wedges you squeeze the empty carcass and get all of the juice out of it.

It takes a lot of patience! I peel it until I get only the core of the fruit otherwise it will be a bitter flavour, not that nice...
