It is called, 'pressing,' and depending on the thickness of the flowers, can take ten days to fourteen. You should put a kleenex on the paper, then flatten out the flower as much as you can, put another kleenex on top of it, and close the book. If you don't have a flower press, weigh the book down with a few more books.....a couple of phone books will do it. It may take a few tries to get it right, but when you do, the dried flowers will last a long, long time. Best wishes

A piece of advise my friend, In an a day you can flatten and dry-up your your roses even without inserting it inside the book, which these roses might ruin the book later on. The old news paper will do the trick, place the roses inside the folded paper the way you wanted it arrange then press with hot iron. The moist, and juice of the roses will be absorbed by the newspaper and walaa! You will have your roses the way you wanted it.
I hope I made your day.

If you want them dry, leave in in the book, put a heavy weight on top of the book and leave it be for 3 weeks. It will be completely dry and flat.
