I think it's fine to have a type. Most people can think of certain traits that they find really attractive in a person. The only problem is if you exclusively try to date your "type," or turn down people you might otherwise like because they don't fit your type. The reason this can cause problems is that, if there is a specific set of traits you find attractive physically, you might have difficulty finding someone with those traits who also meshes well with you emotionally and mentally. If you can find a red headed guy that you work well with, then great, by all means go with it and don't feel bad about having a type. But, if you date a lot of read heads and still can't find the right guy, time to expand your dating pool.

There is nothing wrong with that!! I am also a black girl and I find myself attracted to tall guys with glasses and long dark hair. That's my "type". I think everyone has a slight preference when it comes to attraction -- just as everyone has a slight preference in the foods they eat or the music they listen to. That being said, I'm sure there are red-head guys who like black girls. Don't feel odd because of what you like. You're not weird.

Red heads are cute. It's fine to have a "type" and no one should tell you that it's wrong for you to like someone so different than you. They are just being close minded.
I prefer brown haired girls that are small and have an interesting style.
For guys I do like red heads, though, as long as they have long red hair--not so much on the freckles--and they should be tall, too, with a sarcastic personality.

Well I don't know about how women feel about red haired men but I am extremely attracted to some red haired women. Emma Stone is a good example of why. Woman looks like that it drives me crazy.

It is completely normal to have a type. Basically everybody has a preference. Whether it be light skin, dark skin, tall, blonde, etc. It is 2007 and if you like a red-heads, go for it. I am Filipina and Italian, and have always had black boyfriends. Do what is comfortable for you, you don't always have to put so much stock into what your friends, as long as you do what makes you happy and you are not hurting yourself or anybody else.

Yes people are initially attracted to someone because of a certain look. To find a lasting soul mate you must look beyond the surface. Skin color, hair color, weight, height, etc. doesn't matter. I was attracted to tall, blond, tanned men but fell truly in love with a short, stocky, dark brown hair man. Been married now for 33 years. Use all your six senses to make your choice in a partner.

Nothing is wrong with that, everyone has a right to his or her own attractions and personal preferences. It doesn't matter what race you are, some redhead guys naturally like white girls only, others are open to interracial dating, don't be too influenced by what friends say, often times they will try and encourage you to date the same race you are but it's ultimately yourself you will answer for, and you have to make yourself happy.

I'm personally don't see the color. I see personality, manners, etc. Yes it is o.k to have a type. but unfortunately if the type doesn't fill you up then you better go for personality and feelings. My type use to be tall dark and handsome, but behind me there was a line of blond, and at the end... I end up with a very handsome blue eye brunette.

It's ok to have a type. It's not ok, though if you discriminate against people who are not of that type. I'm an African girl and I love love love Asian men but that doesn't mean I wouldn't date a fellow African/Caucasian etc that possessed the good character qualities I like.

Funny thing is that I too had a type. The humor? Well the love of my life reads like the anti-list of my type. So much for thinking we only like what we like, huh?
