materialistic is worse because you will never be satisfied with the material items that you accumulate over a lifetime. you will always want more stuff and will still be unhappy. At least with bad dental hygene you can still have a happy life. Just like the song by the flying lizards says "the best things in life are free"

Bad dental hygiene is the worse thing. There's nothing wrong with being materialistic --if by that you mean placing a reasonable value on material things ... like, you know, say, food, shelter and clothing.

Most criticisms of "materialism" are a lot of hokum spewed out by professional wordspinners who don't produce anything except words and who mainly get paid for filling up time & space with so much balderdash, which they mainly copy from one another. ... for example, professional writers, college professors, and related kinds of lily-fingered, white-wine-drinking, brie-eating, tip-toeing, so-called intellectuals.

Take good care of your teeth. Nobody else will.

b) is worse. I don't see a problem with being materialistic - everyone is. Hey, you have a computer, a bed, probably a couch and some books, right? So you're materialistic.

Dental hygene is a materailistic concern, so you cant really answer that question. 100 years after you die, no one will care about your teeth, or your stuff.
