Yes, its safe to delete the text log files, these files are created when you start Norton virus for live update, virus scan or any activity.

Yes. Routine clearing of junk files keep your system work faster.
Download disksweeper free 2 from http://www.freewarefiles.com/program_9_96_23577.html.
Delete all to Recyclebin..Now check your computer is working normally.
BootLog for the O.S should not be deleted.
Even Windows Updates create text files which I have deleted .The C:/Windows folder should not contain unnecesary files . text/ log files/$uninstall /Prefetch/Old System Restore Points/

System Volume Information etc are some of them .
To be on the safe side move them to a different folder. Keep them for a week or so and then copy to a CD/ delete them.

Are you still running Norton? if so leave them alone.
