Money is helpful but if the relationship is only staying good because of money then it will fail in the end. Happiness has to be in a relationship for it to last meaning you can go through good times and bad with or without financial prosperity. So yes money can help but it can't help a failing relationship.

Why is it that all couples have a money issue? Money is not what makes a marriage, All it does is pay the bills, and get a few things along the way to give entertainment. Love, Respect, and communication are the 3 biggest factors in a marriage. It is a 50 / 50 relationship, and when it comes to money, both people need to discuss what and when to buy things, and how it will be paid for. If a man lets his wife go out and fill up the credit cards, he has no reason to ***** about it. If she goes behind his back and does it, she needs to get a job so she can pay for it. And Vise Versa.
I've been married 33 years, and we talk over everything. And yes we are still happy......

My first instinct was yes, but actually now I say no. While living in poverty or close to can be problematic. I believe it ultimately depends on the inner strength of the individuals. Some people are just chronically unhappy, while others are content to make due with what they have. Those chronic unhappy people are ones, I think, are the ones likely to blame probs on money-when in reality there is some underlying, inner problem.

Having money does take away some stress ( like living comfortable as opposed to living paycheck to paycheck ) however, having too much money causes problems as well. Just look at the problems these "golddiggers" create in the news.

Ummm...no! Look at Paul McCartney/Heather Mills. http://www.hollywood.com/news/McCartney_to_Give_Mills_A_235_Million_Divorce_Package/3597152
That's a divorce payout in the millions so there was money there and it didn't help much. Learning to manage what money you do have in a way that makes the relationship thrive is a much better option.

Speaking from experience, my wife and I went through lean times and times of taking lavish vacations. It didn't make any difference to us either way as we enjoyed being together no matter what we were doing. Happiness isn't in the wallet - it's in the heart!

I think it can take some of the stresses off so you can concentrate more on the relationship.

We all think it would help but the reality of it is that it would cause new problems.
