NO!!!!
I held every one of my babies as much as they wanted. Some wanted it more than others! They were all very happy and content babies when they were held-- the happiest babies you ever saw! But yes, they do get used to it. They come to expect that you will take care of them and meet their needs for being touched & held. That is NOT "spoiling". That is teaching your baby that they are loved and that you can be trusted to respond to their needs.

Hold the baby as much as they want. At two weeks the baby cannot get used to holding a lot. They just want to feel secure in your arms. That is not an age for getting any bad habit.
This is a start of bonding between the parent and child.
Enjoy it. It becomes difficult to hold the baby when they become heavy.

Thats an old wives tale, hold that baby as much as you want! It's only when they get older that holding them too much becomes an issue.

NO!! I personally believe that you cannot spoil a baby under 6 months old!! People always told me I held my son too much, and now he is 13 months old and never wants to be held!!

No, they need to be held for a sense of security. It's too early to spoil them so don't worry. Lots of people would tell me to hold my baby as much as i could because they grow so fast and one day you won't be able to hold them anymore.

Yes. It's not that babies that age can be "spoiled", which is a learned attitude, but they CAN establish undesirable habits, such as needed to be held all the time in order to be happy (which leads to "spoiled" eventually"). If you hold the baby all the time now, you will have some very difficult back-tracking and re-training to do later. Have you read all the posts on here by people who's babies won't let them put them down?

I dont think so. I dont think the " holding the baby too much " rule applies when they are that young. I think its good for them to be held a lot when they are so young.

Absolutely NOT.
(Don't let anyone tell you that you will "spoil" the baby if you pick it up a lot).
Holding the baby will only help you bond better with it.

You cannot hold a newborn TOO MUCH! Think about how they feel...they have been inside, being 'held' and comforted 24 - 7 ...and now they are out...and we expect them to sleep ALONE?

Well, if you hold it long enough, eventually it will be a 3 week old baby.
