I was shocked the first time I saw "Dateline, to Catch a Preditor". I saw the episodes in California, Texas and Florida.
I am shocked at just how many are looking for Male and Female teens online and how many actually show up at their home for Sex?
What is wrong with society? Our teens are not safe anywhere?

It is shocking how many sexual predators are out there. I think society now oversexualizes teens, and that certainly doesn't help the situation. Education of kids as to how to appropriately use the internet is important, but also keeping yourself educated as far as learning about sexual predators in your neighborhood is important, especially if you have children. You can look on your local police website and generally find a link somewhere- I know here in Chicago I can search by zip code and get the pictures, offenses and addresses of local registered sex offenders.

I have no good feelings towards child predators. They should all be put away for life IMO.
However, the dateline show is using entrapment techniques to get these guys. It is a slight possibility that some of those men might never break the law in any way if they weren't set up to do so.
Also, I don't see how they can make the charges stick. The underaged person is not really underaged, so how can they find guilt in meeting someone underaged with sexual intent if the victim is not in fact underage?
I am still glad to see them get some of those guys locked up, especially those who have prior convictions for the same thing.

I'm happy that they are getting what they deserve. It's ridculous esp when they drive from their house that's five hours away. Teens aren't safe on the internet anymore. It's crazy. I hope the keep the show going, maybe it will be enough to make some guys think twice.

I'm still waiting for the day a woman comes on the show. They've had everyone else.

In this case with Dateline, it is the teens that are perpetuating this.

Keep in mind that they INVITE these men over.

The key here is to stop the progression of "blind" parenting and get them back in shape.
When I was a kid (i'm 27) my parents watched me and made sure that they knew where I was at all times.
Parents need to start doing their job and stop letting the internet and television raise their kids.

It seems that not only teens but society as a whole is in danger. Sadly I don't think it will get any better. I wish we had some better solutions to remedy this problem. As for the men who seek these children online, they are really ill.

the guys are sick and ill but so are the teenagers doing it to them..they are the ones inviting men over and talking on line with them and yet the men are the only ones who receive any punishment for it..just a couple of months ago a girl did that to two guys, told them she was 21 years old and then when they met her for sex she confessed she was only 14..they both went to jail and will forever be sex offenders and she got off scott free and went on to do it to another guy..their both guilty man and woman (or in this case child).

there are some sick elements in this old world. Teens, and
adults need to be aware of what's around them -- safe is
relative to caution.
