The U.S. is enormous, with vast quantities of resources, money, consumers and labour. The corporations that started in the U.S. were able to super-size themselves as well before they moved abroad.

So Tesco's dominates the UK market, but that's tiny compared to Walmart's gross in the U.S. Which puts Walmart (Asda) in a better position to move into the UK and defend itself against Tesco moving into the U.S.

The U.S. invented the assembly line and got a head start on assembly line food as well. It's also a car-oriented society, with people quite used to traveling longer distances and expecting that they'll be able to get a 'known quantity', even of dubious quality, wherever they go. That's a much newer concept in the rest of the world.

For movies, most U.S. Americans can't be bothered with subtitles or learning another language. so 'foreign' movies are automatically excluded from the largest single market in the world. They just can't compete in terms of resources and advertising.

You're right, it does go on forever. It's not because the U.S. is better, it's simply because they're so much larger.

Why do you think the government despises the EU and UN so intensely?

It is called the power of free enterprise and is the basic reason that America has so much influence in the world. With all the problems that you seem to see America has, it is one of the few free countries that 90% of everyone wants to come here. Why,? because it is one of the few country that allows anyone to make money and a good living. Capitalism is alive and well, even in socialistic and communistic governments. Capitalism works all over the world
