Your baby should be drinking zero ounces of formula. Should be drinking breast milk for at least the first 6 months to a year.

The amount a baby eats depends on the baby. For some 5 week olds 2 oz every 3 to 4 hours is plenty, others will require 4 oz in that time period. As long as she is gaining weight and producing at least 4 or 5 wet diapers a day then don't worry. Unlike us adults, babies eat when they are hungry and stop when they are full... remember they only have teeny tiny bellies(about the size of a golf ball)

the 'rule of thumb' is 2 - 2.5 ounces per pound of baby weight in a 24 hr. period. If she is 10lbs for instance, she should get between 20 - 25 ounces in a 24 hr. period. Try just putting 2 oz in a bottle and if she wants more you can just add 1 ounce. 2 ounces aat a time is a HUGE amount to give a 5 week old. You may also want to try a pacifier.

How often are you feeding her? At this age, her feedings should be at least 2 hours apart. I'd talk to your pediatrician, of course, but it sounds like your daughter has developed "snack feeding" habits. Snack feeders are notorious for falling asleep during feedings. They wake themselves up so often to top off their half-full tummies that they never get the quality sleep their growing bodies need and are always sleepy.

That being said, it's normal for a baby's appetite to change for every feeding, every day. My 6 week old currently takes in between 2.5 and 4 ounces about every 3 - 4 hours, with at least one solid 5 hour block of sleep at night.

Feed her ever 3 to 4 hours and don't worry how much she is eating as long as she is gaining weight,
The best advice on children I got from my doctor years ago was "let your child lead you." and that goes for potty training to

Give her as much as she wants, whenever she wants it.

Just keep her fed....you will see a pattern emerge.
