I'm at the part where you use the boomerang to hit those 4 wind panel things to open up the gate (with the pattern of a "Z" on the ground....even when i do the pattern it's telling me to do, it still won't open, what am i doing wrong?

Think of the Z as not showing you the order of which the switches have to be hit in, but the pathway that the Boomerang has to take. Even though it says so in the item description, some people don't realise that the boomerang can lock onto up to five targets at once (I'm not saying you did, but I think people skip through the item description without reading it.). Stand in the centre of the Z and get out your boomerang. Now lock onto the targets in order (with the z button) WITHOUT throwing the boomerang. Once you've locked onto all four, look back at the first target and throw the boomerang. It should fly through the air, hitting all fiour targets in the correct order and then return to you. If you've done it right, the door will open and you can get the big key.

There is an order that you have to hit the fan on. If I remember correctly I got the order by standing in front of the gate and looking at the ground there is a marking of a Z then you have to hit the 4 fans using the multitarget to form a Z and the gate should open.

You have to hit the gates in the right order, look on the ground and see the pattern on the ground and then follow the pattern to line them up right.

Start at the end of the z that is closest to you and then z-target all of the other posts and then let go of the boomerang

make sure you use the four target system. target the four first... THEN let go of the boomerang.
