I have just heard of a statement that Mikey Way (Bass and Gerard's brother) has quit MCR??!! I can't seem to find any coverage of this and refuse to believe it does anyone know if this is true?? And why, if the worst has come to the worst??

No, Mikey has NOT quit the band. They're all still together, they are on tour as we speak, and will be doing yet another show later tonight. Don't worry.
Mikey did have some major issues while they were recording The Black Parade, however. He left the band temporarily, stayed with a friend, and got everything worked out. He's fine now, but has been diagnosed with a type of bipolar.

Mikey has not quit. I have not heard a press statement from the band, and the they're in the middle of a tour atm.
Until I hear that from the band, or Reprise records, I will not believe it.
The band have been through hell and high water through the making of the Black Parade, so its no surprise that they're all felling low. There has even been talk of "Not Topping the Black Parade" by the band, and they seem to be starting new side projects etc. atm, but I don't think they'll quit yet!

Mikey did for a little while when they were recording the black parade becuz they went to an abandoned house and it made mikey become depressed, and actually became diagnosed with bipolar disorder, so he left the house and the band to recuperate but he came back, and is still with them now!

No, Mikey is still with the band. The news you got was probably from when they were recording The Black Parade. He had to leave the band because he had a breakdown, he was sufferring from serious depression and when he was taken to a therapist he was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. He returned to finish up the CD and is still with them today. He was with them when they perfromed on Leno last night, so all is well!

he didnt quit! right, i read this in kerrang months ago, keep up! when they were recording mikey got depresse dand he had to leave that spooky ol' house for a little while, he stayed with is friend and got conselling and now he's getting better. didnt quit at all. just a bit crazy like everyone does when you come off tour after a year or two of touriong non stop. stop worrying.

I think he will not quit for now. Why Mikey will quit, the band is still famous.... Try to look for more information,. If u cannot find anything, probably its just a rumor

it's true!! but he came back...
i read in an interview that mikey and gee weren't having a good time ande mikey decided to leave the band.. so as gerard was so sad and angry he wrote the song 'famous last words' and then, mikey realized that he couldn't go and came back..
that's all..

spin magazine published an article after the release of the black parade chronicling mcr's production of the black parade. while they were recording mikey suffered a nervous breakdown due to (he says) mixing alcohol and anti-depressants. after a short hiatus he rejoined the band and they continued recording.

i find it hard to believe that this is true. my chemical romance are still touring for the black parade album.its not long since black parade came out and it brought the band massive success so i don't think he will just drop out like out. i think this is just a rumour coz i haven't heard anything about it.

he quit a while ago during the recording of the black parade but he came back after being persuaded by his brother that they needed him.
