Speech MUST be more spontaneous. You have only a fraction of a second in which to respond, when you talk (mostly -- there are exceptions. For instance, people are still responding to Abraham Lincoln's speech, which he gave more than 100 years ago). It is nearly impossible for anyone to correct your speech as you have already started saying something else by the time anyone can think about what you said and figure out how you should fix it.
Writing is different. You can look at a piece of writing anywhere and anytime -- while you are working, while you are on the potty, while you are burning your toast, etc). And you can respond to it whenever you want, also. You can take a day or a year or a thousand years to respond (unless you are dead by then, like most of us).
BUT if you are a highly-trained speaker, then your writing should be EXCELLENT!

Everyone's different. My speech and writing are equal because I've been trained at both and have been put infront of a lot of people while doing so. But some people can write better than speak because they feel more comfortable writing things down versus saying them aloud infront of a crowd. Other's find it easier to speak their mind instead of writing down their thoughts because they can't get the words to flow as smoothly through a pen. It's the same with art and athletics. Both relieve stress in different ways for different people

I think I write a lot better than I speak. For one thing, when I write I can look at the words on the paper and read them back to myself and change things. With speaking, it's hard to turn back time. Also when I'm writing I have more time to think about what it is that's going on the paper.
I guess sometimes speach can be more beautiful because what comes out of your mouth is what you're feeling and thinking at that exact moment and emotion always makes things more spontaneous and interesting.

I believe I write more beautifully because I feel more comfortable writing. When I try to talk half the time it either comes out wrong or I say it in the wrong tone or something.

I write more beautifully. It gives me time to think about what I'm saying. My speech is somewhat choppy and doesn't usually seem to make much sense because I don't have the time to think about what I'm saying. Messenger has become my best friend! lol.

My writing is more beautiful. When I speak I tend to be monotone, but I have a really good vocabulary. In writing, it is my vocabulary that demands attentions, instead of in speaking when more attention is paid to how things are said than what is said.

I depends on what I am saying and sometimes it depends on what I am writing. Usually my writing is more beautiful because I think about what I want to say a second longer.

I tend to write better. Sweet words of wonder flow effortlessly (If badly spelt) from my pen / keyboard.
My speach is peppy and lively but I tend to talk too fast and people almost have to record what I say and play it backwards to try understand exactly what I'm saying.

It depends with me. If I am talking to a person who speaks eloquently to me I will speak to them the same and if not then the speech favors the person talking to me. My writing is half and half depending on the question.

I write much better than I speak because I am socially shy and I tend to mumble and stare at my feet when I am talking.
