My daughter is 15 months old and still chews on everything. I think every child stops thinking everything is a scrumptious treat at different ages. When I read to my daughter I always give her a book of her own to chew on while I read from mine. I use a bath book or one that's made of foam so she doesn't tear up the one I'm trying to read to her. Kudos to you for taking the time to read to your daughter...they're never too young to be read to!

She'll stop chewing when she stops teething. And don't worry about reading to her at 10 months of age. She'll soon be bothering you 24/7 for stories and you'll be back to wishing she was just chewing on books....LOL....joking.

Its not just baby's that do that its children to. I see children with no cuffs on there jumpers cause of chewing. I know that baby's don't get all there teeth till they are about 3 or 4 years old so i guess they may stop then. But all you can do is to encourage her to chew things that she is aloud to chew. You can get books that come with chew toys or toys that can be removed for her to play with which i am sure she will love.
Toys r us do a great baby range of books some are ones they can chew and others have toys to chew on even play in the bath with.

Most babies will stop somewhere between 12 & 18 months, but some have more oral curiosity than others, and can persist in putting things in their mouths until as late as 5-6 years old. I knew a 4 y/o kid once who swallowed a AA battery! He had to have it surgically removed. When they asked why on earth he ate it, he said, "Because it was so shiny!" LOL
One of my children was very oral, and ate sand, rocks, marbles, whatever she could put in her mouth, until she was around 3 y/o. Never a battery, though, thank goodness!

She's probably having teething pains. My son would get 2 teeth at a time, the tylenol drops wouldn't work with the reccomended dosage (Tylenol causes liver problems, esp. in small children). You may have to go to a drug store, but get "Murpheys Teething Balls".

Lol, maybe after she's a year. They'll stop when all their teeth come in. But, then they'll start ripping up the books, and scribbling with crayon in them, lol!

toddlers stumble on with their mouth. it is carefully regular for them to chew on each little thing. you could in simple terms verify you keep each little thing risky far off from them and out of attain. provide her toys to chew on somewhat.
