It is not against the law but some ppl do it because they have no choice in the matter. But if you do not have to do that then don't! A 13 yr old does not want to share with a 10 yr old boy . One reason is her hormones are going to kick in an 10 yr old boys are very immature and will get on her nerves. Parents seem to forget what it was like to be a teen.b She needs her space. Just as you do.

In NYS it is against the law the premise being they need their own privacy, they are getting into finding out about themselves, place where they can go with friends, and being seperated from friends due to age.
