Not only is it safe, it is advisable. When you breastfeed your child, you will pass the antibodies for the illness to your child, helping to keep your baby from getting the illness that you have. If you stop breastfeeding, you will become engorged, possibly causing mastitis. Your child will still be incontact with the illness, but will not have the antibodies to fight it off. It is possible that your child could still get sick even with the antibodies, but the illness might not be as severe as it could have been.

Yes, actually, when you are sick and you breastfeed, you pass the antibodies to your baby to immune them from whatever it is you have. You should ask your doctor about breastfeeding on certain medications although many are considered safe such as advil, tylonol, and anything you can give a baby because they get more in the womb and through a dose than through breast milk.

should be okay--The antibodies in your body will pass to your baby through your milk so your baby will actually be improving his/her immunity!--But if you have something taht is very contagious you may pass it on to your child--not through breastmilk--but just via physical contact--check with your doctor to see what you should do--But in general--it is safe to breastfeed during an illness as long as you adequately nourish yourself--drink lots of fluids and get plenty of rest--Good Luck:)
