Stay at least one night at Crocodile Bridge camp and make sure your lights are the first to shine down the road as the gates open in the morning. The first 18 km of the tarred road to Lower Sabi is the best game viewing in early morning in Kruger. Then take the long drive and stay at Satara for the next best viewing in the park. I am a tour guide and prefer Kruger to all the fancy private reserves never mind what the people say. Kruger is the most natural game viewing of the lot and not crowded with radio controlled jeeps from other lodges.
Do a Morning Walk @R120-00 per head with the armed rangers and do a Sunset Drive @ R230-00 per head in Parks Board vehicles to maximise your stay. ENJOY IT

If you are staying right in Kruger Park I would suggest staying at Skukuza (close to Kruger gate) Satara, or Crocodile Bridge (right inside the southern end of the park.) All of these camps are great for animal sightings. If you are looking for a really spectacular view I would say Olifants as it has cabins that overlook a river. If you are looking for luxury I would try a private game reserve in the Sabi Sands area . The private game reserves are next to Kruger Park with no fences for the animals.

Pay the extra money if you can and go to the private reserves you can be taken off road, if that's where the animals are, and get a real close encounter. Another bonus is you have a fully qualified, trained ranger and tracker who can answer all your questions and feed you with knowledge. Most do a short walking safari too which teaches you about flora and fauna. Dulini Lodge is one of my favourites you can view further details through this link http://www.visionsofafrica.co.uk/holidaysbydestinationandtype.asp?DestinationID=6. You can't beat the stories around the boma (open air eating area usually with a fire) accompanied by an Amarula (an African liqueur similar to our Baileys). However, the National Parks Board accommodation is extremely well priced usually on a room only basis but driving in the park is strictly on the tarred road only have a look at this link for South Africa National Parks (SANP) accommodation http://www.sanparks.org Which ever you choose make sure you pack a pair of binoculars. The private reserves really are fabulous, feel free to e-mail me if I can help you any further.

My favorite is the Lower Sabie camp, not to busy - with excellent game viewing. They offer early morning and night game drives with very informative game rangers.
The campsite overlooks the Sabie river - check out the hyena's and other smaller cats near the fence. If your lucky you might even see an elephant down by the river.
Centrally located!

As you don't have the time to spend going right through the park (north/central/south) I would suggest Lower Sabi in the southern part of the park. They have luxury tents overlooking the river. If you did have the time then I would recommend Olifants in the north and Letaba in the central part as well.

Satara is my favourite camp. Look out for the Hyena's prowling along the fence at night.
Olifants has fantastic views.
Skukuza is the main camp and a bit too busy.
