My husband and I are moving to Vegas this summer. And we want to know what kinds of jobs we can get. We are both 45 and are licensed professionals where we live. He has done construction since he was 14 and has had his General Contractors license for 10 years. He has also worked for a Construction company as a Supervisor for the past 3 years. I have been in customer service for over 25 years and have owned a Daycare as well as I have been a licensed Cosmetologist for 12 years and am a licensed Instructor and recently taught in 2 area colleges as a Cosmetology instructor. I currently work for an insurance agency. Our licenses won't apply when we move, but, how will our experience benefit us and what kinds of jobs can we expect to get. Also, how much can we expect to make?
Currently we are barely making $35K gross between us. Could we realistically expect to make more in Vegas with our experience?

Your experience will be fine. This is a big city, and just like all big cities your skills can be utilized. You will make LOTS more money. My partner is in a union, is a construction worker, and makes $60,000 a year without overtime. Last year he made over $100,000 with overtime. There are a lot of cosmotology schools here, and tons of insurance agencies. Good luck

$35K will seem like pennies to you once you get here. Trust me on that. Employment opportunities are always on the rise in Sin City. Just be prepared to (possibly) not work your normal 9-5.

you might make more in vegas and i think construction and cosmetology are very viable jobs but the cost of living is high here mainly cooling and rent. so you might not be any richer.

You could search for jobs based on your qualifications on some of the major job websites like Hotjobs,Monster, Careerbuilder and post your resume on these job boards. You could also search for jobs on websites like Craigslist,Simplyhired and Indeed. More information available at http://www.pcworkathome.net/jobwebsites.html
