How long does it take for a lizard's tail to regenerate. I have to do a science experiment or something for extra credit in my Bio class, and Im trying to see if I can come up with something with lizards and animal regeneration.

Well the time required for regeneration is not usually standard. This depends on many factors, including the species in question, the lizard's age, how many times it has already lost its tail, how much it is eating, its overall health, temperature, humidity, and others.....
It can take anywhere from several weeks to several months depending on these factors.

Doesn't that depend on the organism's metabolic rate?
