Look at the religious drawings. The gods resemble aliens.
Mayan art depicts spaceships.
Hinduism and Judaism refer to chariots of fire which are spaceships. Angels are extraterrestrials, more beautiful than the average human (there have been reports of Nordic aliens in the past)
The creation myth and bible may make sense this way. The monsters referred to in the bible (Behemoth and Leviathan) were early memories of dinosaurs.
"God" was an alien, he took our primitive ape ancestors and sped up their evolution (that's why there's no missing link). Then he left us to fend for ourselves, our ancestors passed on their experiences in stories. Divine intervention could be the action of the alien called God protecting his chosen people, maybe the Ark of the Covenant was a way of summoning him (a transmitter hidden in the dust inside)

They probably thought the aliens WERE Gods. I mean they were able to do things that only Gods could supposedly do. They had Chariots of fire, They probably were telepathic, they probably had weird, advanced weopons and devices. perhaps they could do strange things with space/time. They could engrave stone tablets with "lasers" to give out as commandments. etc. I think alien beings have long had a hand in our development as a race, and that they still do. How could you not, really?

way back in early cave drawings you can see the likeness of bipedal beings with what appears to be a space suit one right down to the helmet.

There are lines on the ground that can not be seen from any other place but the air.

they have found pyramids on mars that are the same in all ways to those on earth.

Egypt is not the only country that has pyramids.

some native cultures still believe their ancestors were from another planet.

Ask Tom Cruise & the Scientology people. L Ron Hubbard used to write sci-fi books, then self-help books & now founded a religion.

I don't think they believed in aliens, but since they had more contact with nature they humanized nature (that is why in ancient Egypt and Greece we have gods with animal heads or animal bodies with human heads). Their beliefs were of gods in nature.

They didn't have the technology we do now to see beyond our atmousphere. They were probably trying to imagine what was out there and how those beings would arrive. I personally don't think it was worship, I think it was just a fanatical obsession.
