Every day I open my bulk mail and there is an announcement saying I have hit some lottery in the UK and have won millions of pounds. I am supposed to fill out info like name, address, gender, occupation, etc. I never respond, but I wonder what the point is of sending these. I really don't believe they have any money to give away or that they are even legit. Just curious.

Its called spam. They dont actually give out money to anyone.
The thing is they charge you for joining in the first place..
So whatever money you pay them for joining in, a fraction of it is paid back to you, if you are really lucky..

Let me get you in on a secret. Once you actually join the thing, if you do, then you will no longer be a winner of any lottery.. lolz.. take care.

Basic rule fo any lottery or prize give away if you didn't enter (by a ticket ,fill in a questionaire report, put your name in a hat)then you didn't win. It is spam they are just trying to steal your info. Some of these go as far as to say if you send a processing fee of blank dollars we can process your win. I saw one of these on a TV court show (I think it was Judge Judy) the lady sent the money and of course was out the money well actually she borrowed it from her sister who was suing her to get it back. Just another fraud based on the desire to win the good life.

This is a scam, most of them are from England with a very formal looking letterhead and address, If you really think that you have won becuase they picked your email why would you get 2 weeks worth of notices??
Sorry Charlie, no go today...

It's about as genuine as a 2 year warranty on an inflatable dartboard.

The point of sending them is to either misuse your information or sell it to other advertisers. I'd block the address.

It's basic, and crude spam. You fill in your details, and they send you more spam!
