Buf-fay! The pronunciation buf-fet has another meaning,as in buffet around- some thing pushed and pulled around with no control-ie-buffeted around by the wind.

Since it is a French word, the correct way is "boof-ay" with no stress on either syllable. The French put equal emphasis on each syllable.

In Canada, it is a BUFF AY, not a BOO FAY or a BUFF IT.

Just like fillet. It is a FILL AY not a FILL IT....
