I know they're both made by the same company and these two computers have alot of same features but the only thing I see different is the processor brand for the
compaq is Intel® Pentium® 4 with HT Technology with a ATI RADEON XPRESS 1100 graphics card and the HP is AMD Athlon(TM) 64 X2 with NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE graphics. Both have 1gb of ram. which do you suggest?

Hello, I have owned both and I really couldn't say anything bad about either one. HP/Compaq has good products & great customer support.
About your question, in this case I would choose the AMD 64 X2, if it was against intel's Core 2 Duo, it would go with intel.

well if you are buying this PC for your home purpose than both of the configuration are approx. same.But if you are looking for better gaming and graphics support than go for compaq .But if AMD is cheaper than go for it because both are having latest of there respective graphics card and the ram is also same.

I would suggest an HP, which stands for Hewlett-Packard.
