I find out if i get into UCDavis sometime this week. Im not a big fan of dorms, but i don't know if freshman are required to live in the dorms for a year or what. Where can I find good apartments good in value and everything that is really close to campus??

The city of Davis is TINY. Nearly everything would be considered close to campus. The downtown apartments tend to be cheaper cuz they're not as new or nice. However, compared to say UCLA, Berkeley, San Diego, or Irvine, all the apartments are cheap.

Still, Davis has a VERY low vacancy rate. It's already kind of late to find an apartment. You better scramble now to look.

However, I HIGHLY suggest you dorm your freshman year. That's where you meet the most people. It's MUCH harder to meet people if you dorm all the way through. You learn the ins and outs of Davis better if you're around more students.
