how do you choose who gets it? Especially in here where most questions aren't serious and sometimes there are duplicate answers.

If I being serious (rarely) I pick the answer that gave me the most logical, thought out answer. If I'm kidding around, which I tend to do here more than often is I pick the answer that I enjoyed the most or made me laugh. If that still brings up more than one answers, I pick the cutest avatar. I know, it's not very nice but hey, that's life for you. It's no secret the the waitress with the good looks get more tips than the guys do.

well if the answer is helpful and better than the rest that is when i choose who gets it but if the questions aren't serious or they are opinion like questions i usually let other people vote on the answers rather than selecting a best answers person

If it's not a "serious" question, whoever makes me smile or laugh the loudest. Sometimes the prettiest girl gets it. Sometimes it's the person who is thinking "outside the box", the person who can articulate a thought that nobody else came up with. Sometimes it's just a matter of which answer didn't suck.

i always liked to give best answerer to someone who really took the time to give a decent answer and someone who doesn't have a lot of points yet.
