For the most part the government does not lie. If one does research on different government sites and looks around a bit most all of what is planned and done is transparent.

However our government is made up of living breathing humans that are fallible and capable of acting in their own self interest. There is where some of the problems come into play.

There really is no "Big Lie" all there are is people who are too lazy, or ignorant , or just really do not care enough to do the research and find the information so they can be informed and able to provide an educated argument as to why they either agree or disagree with the policy and actions of our government. And that is why nothing will change either.

More likely it's just a set of lies that serves their purpose at the time. Listen to Nancy Pelosi for five minutes though, and you understand that it's stupidity rather than actual lying.
