ok, my internet will work for a while, but even though i have dsl, it's really slow. if i stay at one website for a certain ammount of time, it will not work. it'll will go really slow and then this page will pop up that says "the page cannot be displayed". if i refresh the page, it makes it worse and it really doesn't work then. to make it work again, i have to restart the whole computer, and sometimes it still doesn't work. it's worse if i go to certain websites like xanga or myspace, or any other website, and its really tiring to restart it all the time! and right now i don't have the money to get someone to look at it! we've called internet people and went through steps to make it work, but it always ends up messing up again. please help! i don't know what to do!!

its slow, even though we don't have dsl, it doesn't have a virus, because there's always a scan going and it says its all good, it always says "the page cannot be displayed" and it makes it worse when i refresh it, and to get it normal again we restart it several times and then it messes up again! help!

Sounds like an old pc, one that's just not up to the task of today's internet. But part of the problem seems to be your power options. Maybe you should just turn off the hibernate stuff and keep it alive constantly.

Also, if you;'re wireless, then you may be too far from the router or you have too many walls between your computer and the router.

Lastly, make sure you're not running lots of unneeded stuff while you're on the internet. Screen your startup folder also.

there are few options/possibilities.
1) your system might have virus , try anti virus software
2) the website, which you look may be slow, try some other website
3) your dsl might be slow, talk to them and sort it out
4) your HW might have some conflicts, talk to your HW person.

If you're using microsoft windows, you can reinstall your internet explorer. Try also installing other Internet Browser. (Ex: IE7, Firefox and Netscape Navigator)
