I just bought some foundation (true match by loreal) and when I put it on, it doesn't give that smooth look i was hoping for. It makes the dry parts of my face more accented, and also some facial hair that was not visible before. Any tips??!

First of all do not wax your facial hair, especially if you couldnt see it before. If you do you'll have to keep up with it for the rest of your life!

..secondly, If your facial hair is showing then chances are you have a shade that is darker than your natural skin tone. Try going a shade lighter.

Also, make sure that you are using lots of moisturizer before you use your foundation. Some people even mix foundation with moisturizer for a very natural/smooth look.

I dab a little bit of vasaline on dry dry areas before applying foundation. After the foundation is applied it doesnt have that greasy look that vasaline gives and it doesnt look dry. but only use a small amount.

If you dont mind spending about 18 dollars for foundation (mine lasts for MONTHS) then I recommend clinique. Its absolutely fabulous, its sold at most department stores, and it matches skin tones perfectly. PLUS a sales person at the store will match your skin tone with the perfect color free of charge. Hope this helps!

I dont care to much for drugstore foundations. Try Clinique Dewy Smooth or SuperFit. You will get good coverage and super glowy skin, I promise, especially with the Dewy Smooth. Go to the Clinique counter in the mall, let them help you find your right color and ask for samples. Try them at home and see which you like best.

Use A make-up sponge.. and wet it a little before you apply the make up [i use liquid foundation] if you use liquid foundation apply that on the sponge and it should go on smoother if not then just dab the wet sponge on your face b4 you apply foundation and should come out looking better.
*edit*
be sure to apply your foundation with a sponge going downward only.. helps spread it evenly.

well loreal may not be your makeup...makeups choose you ..you dont choose them..so loreal may not be for you....if your under a budget go for maybeline...maybe that can be for you...but if you arent under a budget and are willing to spend money for what you want...then i would recomend yvessaintlauren...their foundation is very good...it is awesome and doesnt accent anything...or if yvessaintlauren doesnt work for you go for estee lauder or dior or channel...they are all amazing and work very well..i use yvessaintlauren and its really good...

you need good skin first and formost. try the neutrogena peel system to get rid of the old skin and moisturize. try waxing the facial hair. it helps a lot.
