There can be many right answers to this question. No, it's not mean to call someone emo. At least I don't think it is. Emo is a short term for Emotional. A very emotional person is often times called an emo. Now days, emo's are normally wearing black and cutting thereselves (no offense intended) But honestly, an emo can be anyone who is overly intuned with their feelings. The don't have to wear black, they don't have to hurt themselves, but emo's are typically cynical people. I hope this helps.

Isnt it ironic that somehow all the trends that are out now actually came from the emo and scene kids?"Emo's and scene kids have been wearing skinny jeans,bright makeup,flats,headbands,big sunglasses,and wearing plastic clips in their hair for a while

all these people have it wrong. an emo is a man who is an OB/GYN and who dresses up as a girl and lurks around in dark corners, waiting for a duck to come along so he can eat it. (Eating Man Obstatristianist). EMO!!!!!!!!!

Kinda like goth but more peircing, screaming music, and colored died hair! Or black!

An 'emo' is a person who makes up fake problems, and generally cuts themself over it. They are suicidal, and have no real probles. Other than the fact that they make up their problems. It's a stereotype for people who have black, dark, or unnatural colored hair, listen to rock music, wear dark makeup, and who have real depression.

ummm i'am not sure the real term for emo would be, but I know they wear alot of black, and somtimes cut there selves and they are depressed all of the time. but as far as that I have idea, try google, or your favorite search engine.
