jake and the fatman was brilliant ... loved that show, the guy (jake) had a cool red corvette called "coyote" i think.
i think it finished in '92 after about 5 years ... not sure why.
one of my other favourite detective shows was "sledgehammer" about a guy with a magnum 45 that he spoke too and treated like a partner/woman ... he often took things literally, like if someone said "kill the lights" he'd shoot them out!

Well Jake got old and got arthritus and the Fatman had a heart attack... or did he choke on a chicken bone...
If I had to pick a favorite detective show it would be either Columbo or Monk.

It was cancelled, um, twenty years ago.
Favorite TV detective? Jim Rockford.
Note: William Conrad was the Fatman, and he also played the title character in Cannon (another detective!)

Well the fatman died in real life, so they stopped making it, I used to enjoy it to.

Fatman died a while back...but I think the series ended before he did.
My favorite was Barnaby Jones.

Like most TV shows it ran out of steam. It had it's run and then the stars found better things to do, which probably made them more money.

i am not sure. I do remember something happening years ago about a secret Crush she did and the guy was appalled that it was another guy who was his secret crush. Anyway something happened to cause a death and that i think ruined her emotionally. I do not remember if the crush died or the guy who had the crush killed himself but i do remember whatever happened was tragic. Sorry.
