There are some mattifying make up bases, have a look! As for not washing your face - not a good idea - pores will get dirt in them and your face will be covered in spots as oily skin is prone to them.
If you can afford it, go have a special facial done. I go to a beauty salon and she uses Dermalogica products on me, specially selectedfor my skin type. Also i buy Dermalogica products to use at home - they are really worth the money you pay! My skin is very good now.
Hope this helps!

Hmm... in the morning before you put on makeup, remember to do this:
1. Use a facial cleanser or scrub. Here are some good brands: Clean n' Clear, Clearasil, Biore, Neutrogena, and my personal favorite, Ponds.
2. After you cleanse your face, remember to use an astringent or toner. I just pour some astringent on a cotton ball and dab it on the oily parts of my face. Most of the brands I listed above sell astringents too. I use Clean n' Clear astringent.
3. Astringent removes oils, but it can also dry out your skin a little TOO much, so use a moisturizer afterwards. I use a moisturizer by Ponds.
After you have done all the above, your face should be pretty much oil-free allowing you to apply your makeup!
Also, the above cleansers, astringents, and moisturizers I listed are not expensive. I buy my face products at Wal-mart or Dillons. Each bottle ranges for $3-$5. But it's your face we are talking about! One of the first things people see when they meet you so I think it is worth spending some money on. Ok, I hope this helps!

I feel your pain. I have oily skin too. I was told that as I got older it wouldn't be as bad. Im 28 now and its not as oily as it use to be.
1) Don't over wash your face. Use a mild cleanser for your oily skin type. I like Noxema Lathering Cream Cleanser. It doesn't dry out my skin and I love that Noxema tingle. You only need to wash your face in the morning and in the evening.
2) Use a gentle toner/astringent. I like Witch Hazel. Its very gentle and doesn't dry out your skin.
3)Always use an oil free moisturizer.
4) Buy makeup for your skin type. All cosmetic companies have products formulated for oily skin types.
I believe the mistake a lot of you tween/teens make is over washing and drying out your skin which will cause the sebaceous glands to over produce sebum. You don't want to do that.
To touch your makeup throughout the day, use those blot papers. They soak up oil without removing your makeup. Also, MAC has a blot powder that I absolutely love. You can use this throughout the day and it won't look cakey or buildup.
I hope this helps.

Many people stay away from anything which is oily, believing it will make your skin more oily. I believe skin and hair is oily because you lack oil and therefore your skin produces more oil to make up for it. Then you come, wash wash and wash, and you remove all the oil and then a vicious cycle starts.
Try using grapeseed oil, which is a very light and healthy oil, buy it from the health store and use a little bit as a moisturizer, first at night to see how it goes. I use rosehip oil and my skin is not oily. This is because the oil balance has been restored and my skin has no need to overproduce. Moisturizers make it very shiny and yet oil doesn't. Also try a natural mineral powder.

First, you need a day crème or moisturizer that is water based. Lotions that contain mineral oil is too larger to penetrate your pores and will sit on the top layer of your skin like saran wrap and just get wiped off over time. This is why your face looks oily and your make-up wears off so quickly, it just sits on top of the mineral oil. Water based products will penetrate the dermis and deeply condition and your skin leaving it looking and feeling hydrated and healthy without looking or feeling oily, and will keep your make up looking flawless longer.
I recommend Arbonne as they formulate all of their products, including cosmetics, with natural botanicals that are beneficial for all skin types. They are Swiss products, regulated by the FDA and do not contain any harmful ingredients such as chemicals, wax, dyes, fragrances, animal products or bi-products, alcohol, acetone, or mineral oil. They are water based and contain the proper ingredients to give you maximum benefit. They are also formulated with nanosphere technology that was created to adjust to everyone's specific needs. It acts like a little computer chip and reads your skin. It know where to apply more moisture and where to apply less.
The color wand is perfect for people with oily skin. It has a dewy texture, not liquid. Arbonne also has a mineral powder with an SPF if you wish to give your skin a nice flawless look after foundation. If you're interested in a natural oil absorber, they have that as well. If you love the products, you have the option of purchasing them at 35% off which will save you a lot of money. If you're open to trying a free sample of the day crème or moisturizer, I'm happy to send one to you. If you would like more information on the cosmetics, contact me and I'll get you the info. Good luck.

Lush does a moisturiser called Enzymion that works wondes on oily skin. It seems expensive but the pots last ages and this stuff is a miracle worker. Also using blotting paper can help soak up the excess oil on your skin if you're touching up during the day and helps get rid of that shiny look.

I "had" oily skin to and using these remedies that I suggest will help you...And just think you don't need to spend any more money, just look in your kitchen to help with your problem skin...I suggest to exfoliate the skin to help tighten pores that the oil comes from which would be the T-zones of your face (including forehead, nose, and chin).I suggest to exfoliate twice a month, and do the mask once or twice a week (depending if you need to) and the cleansing everyday b-4 bedtime.
Exfoliating: make a paste with water using sugar, salt, OR baking soda. Scrub onto face. Sugar is astringent, to tighten pores, salt will help retain moisture, and baking soda will have a whitening effect.
Oily skin masks: 1) oatmeal, 2) paste of cucumber, 3) paste of strawberries. Apply no more than 15 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
Oily skin cleansers: Use white vinegar or lemon juice, diluted 1 tbsp to 1 cup of water, to rinse face.
Drink lots of water!
Good luck sweetie...Let me know if these remedies worked for you.

hey,
oily skin needs plenty of cleansing with plenty of hot water and soap to prevent the pores from being clogged. Avoid harsh products that strip your skin of oil and encourage flakiness. They can cause a reaction known as reactive seborrhoea, where the oil glands work overtime to compensate for the loss of natural oils. I think the products you use are making it worse not any better, and it will save you alot of money in the long run. Have you ever considered of changing your diet which might be the main problem????

I suffer from oily skin,
my tips
- use a foaming fach wash, have a look for a wash that is designed to mattify your skin & keep shine under control. Make sure the product doesnt contain oil. If your in the UK have a look at Biore, there whole range is designed for oily spot prone skin -
http://www.boots.com/shop/product_list_new_template.jsp?classificationid=1017956
If you can afford to though invest in the 3 step programme from Clinique
- Use a toner, when it comes to toner its best to go for one designed for sensitive skin, although your skin is oily if your going to be using a heavy toner it will strip the skin of its natural oils and make your face overly dry & flakey (a worse look than oily!!) Again, Biore is a good brand to use, so is the Boots Botanics range.
- Once twice a week exfoliate your face, when it comes to exfoliator you dont have to stick to one designed for your skin condition. Nearly every skin care brand do an exfoliator, its juse finding one that you like!
- Also once a week use a CLAY mask....if you can afford to get Temple Spas Power Breakfast, or have a hunt around for a more affordable one
- For a moisturiser use one without oil & one thats designed for combination/oily skin. Any that say they keep shine under control are good, Boots Botanics Responsive Moisturiser is good, so is Cliniques Moisture in control (Expensive but well worth it, have been using it for 2 months now and it has definately helped my shiny face!!)
- When it comes to applying make-up use a primer first off. Temple Spa's Moisture Matt works as a moisturiser & a primer (and its designed for oily skin!), Also Laura Mercier's oil free primers are great. A primer will really help to hold your make-up in place!
- after a primer invest in Cliniques Pore Minimizer
T-Zone Shine Control.
- Foundation wise Almay is a great band for oily skin. the foundation i have found works the best for my skin though is the new mousse ones! most brands are doing them now, so it depends on how much you want to spend
- after you've applied your foundation dot your face with some pressed powder and keep that handy in your bag.
- some days you will find your face is oily than others, this is usually due to how your hormones are, how hot the room your are in is, the weather, essential things are to keep cool, carry face wipes, blotting papers, pressed powder and a bottle of water in your bag, so you can refresh yourself and your makeup on the go.
unfortunetly no make-up is ever going to stay on oil skin for the duration you want it to....i sometimes find that my make-up has stayed on all day and then the next i'm reapplying it again at about 11am, the key is to find products that hold it for as long as possible.
Try and keep your body temperature down and drink lots of water!
Always wash your face at the end of the day! keep it clean!
The key when buying any product for your skin is it has to be OIL FREE!!!
Oh and when will people stop associating oil skin with teenagers!!! women of all ages get it!!

I hear you! The only good thing about oily skin is that your skin won't wrinkle as fast as our dry skin sisters will. For now let's work on your problem. Don't use harsh cleansers. they will strip your skin and upset your skins natural balance. L'Oreal makes a great line of oil control products. I like the shine control lotion. It makes a great makeup base and works 5 or so hrs for me. You can buy oil blotting papers. They will remove excess oil without disturbing your makeup.
