Good news for you: this message isn't caused by a virus or spyware (at least as long as you don't classify Windows as such ;) ). It's a simple NetSend message, catched by the windows messenger service.
There are two things you can do:
1. if you are using Windows XP update your copy to service pack 2 since that service has been deactivated/removed.
2. disable the service

You have an active malware infection. Most of that crud is spyware. AVG is pretty useless for that, as are almost all AVs. AVG does have a freeware anti-spyware tool on there site.
Just be aware that there is one, there are probably more you don't know about. Trojans love to invite friends over to party on your system. Just follow the steps below for a thorough house cleaning:
1st-Make sure to get all Windows updates DLed and installed.
1st A:Many versions of malware can, and do, hide in your system restore files so go to Start-->Control Panel-->System and click on the System Restore tab and put a check in the 'Turn off System Restore' box. Turn it back on after you are clean and create a new Restore Point.
2nd-Go to BitDefender.com for a free virus scan and cleaning. TrendMicro now charges to clean.
3rd-Download, install, and update Lavasofts's Ad-Aware (free). Do a full system scan and delete the crap it finds. Do this weekly.
4th-Download, install, and update SaferNetworking's SpyBot Search & Destroy (free). Do a full system scan and delete the crap it finds. Do this weekly. Use the 'Immunize' function if you still use IE.
5th-download, install and update AVG Anti-spyware.(Both free and paid versions available).Do a full system scan and delete the crap it finds. Do this weekly.
If you dont have a firewall, GET ONE. ZoneAlarm has a free version.
Update your AV and do a full system scan at least weekly.
We all hate the 'weekly' stuff but it's necessary in today's net environment. "Get it clean and keep it clean!" should be your motto.
If this doesnt fix the problem, create a free account at techsupportforum.com and download HiJackThis. Just enter the "HiJackThis Log Help" section of the forum. Follow the instructions given and you'll soon be free of malware. There are other sites but this a good, free site! DO NOT use HiJack This unless you are extremely knowledgeable about Windows and it's processes. You can seriously Bork your system. Let the pro's direct you.
For a safer, more secure, easier to use not mention faster browser, try Mozilla FireFox. For an e-mail client try Mozilla Thunderbird.

Its nt a virus, its adware. Try using these, both free.
Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free.

Many great suggestions. I would advise going to CNET and downloading CCleaner, Adaware, SpyBot, and AntiVir (all free) CCleaner will erase whatever has been opening the pop-up. The other programs will follow-up and may find something CCleaner missed. Make sure you have the pop-up blocker on your Yahoo toolbar and that it is active!! Also check on the status of your firewall!

1.Do you get these pop ups when you open IE ?
2 or they appear near the Taskbar ?
download GoogleTollbar which blocks popups.
or better use FireFoxBrowser .
The other possibility is Windows Messenger service .
This has to be disabled. .

I don't know the cause, but "Spybot - Search and Destroy" is a top-rated spyware/cookie/spam/etc program - and is free on the web. Install it and see what it catches.
(p.s. many of the "free anti-spyware" programs are in fact planting spyware themselves, so make sure you pick one that is recommended by a trusted source)
