Ebay help?

I have ebay alerts on my computer so when I get outbid or an item I'm bidding on ends it tells me, even if I'm not on the website. I'm bidding on a present for someone I live with so need to turn it off encase they see it! Does anyone know how?

well you can just disable the toolbar until this particular auction ends.. you wont get the alerts either but they wont be popping up. How to disable it depends on your browser but with IE it should be under tools manage Add-ons.
