where is sccharomyces cerevisiae, more commonly known as baker's or brewer's yeast, found?

hehe... yea i kinda didnt mean to spell that wrong... its suppossed to be saccharomyces cerevisiae

Put an "a" in Saccharomyces and another "e" in cerevisiae and you'll find all kinds of information on the web.

The site listed below says that this yeast naturally occurs on the surfaces of fruit. That makes a lot of sense to me -- it would be in with the grapes when they are mashed to make wine.
