green day and blink 182 are very big. everyone has heard of them and most people know their music.
my chemical romance is a a somewhat well-known band but nowhere near as well known as the first two.
i think +44 is becoming a lot more popular but most people don't know who they are.
angels and airwaves are somewhat known but not really.
if i had to rank them by popularity i would say:
1. green day
2. blink 182
3. my chemical romance
4. +44
5. angels and airwaves

My gorgeous gf is from Alabama so she's taking over for this one.She goes back home every so often & likes these bands so i trust her judgment!!
1.Green Day - really really massive over there
2.My Chemical Romance - they tour a lot & have gotten popular.
3.Blink 182 - a lot of ppl still remember them & like them.
4.Angels & Airwaves - she prefers them to +44.
5.+44 - only famous cos of Blink 182 - she hates them!!

green day- tho the american idiot vuz has died down, they r still pretty big. they plan 2 come out w/ a new album in the upcoming year and want 2 make a movie out of they're movie. they r green day, they can do pretty much w/e they want and still make big $$
blink 182- they're still over played and over loved.
angels and airwaves- not 2 big
my chemical romance- HUGE right now. theyre new album is AMAZING!

Green Day and My Chemical Romance are some of the biggest bands. I don't know about blink182, and I haven't hear of the other two bands.
