This Grand Prix has 162,000 miles on it.I had new tires and had it alined last June.At various speeds,40-70,at times it has a vibration of some kind under it.Someone said it might be shocks. Two different mechanics have looked at the front end parts and said they show no sign or wear or that they need replaced.Does anyone know what might be possibliy be causing this vibration? It doesn't happen steady, all the time, just now and then, but everytime I drive the car.Seems like somthing is loose or something.I was told to keep an eye on the air pressure in the tires also.I have been doing that but slill get the vibration.Help!!!

Well, there are many parts involved. Unfortunately, they design cars to break down, so you buy more parts, so they make more money, sadly. Tires that wear out, light bulbs that burn out. Most are not out for the good of mankind, instead people are selfish and insecure, care mostly about themselves.

Are your wheels balanced properly? If you look at some tires, on the inside, next to the rim, often you will see little, oval-shaped lead weights, fastened on the tires to balance them. I'd say there are a lot of things that would cause this. Consult a mechanic and explain the problem to him. Perhaps the tires weren't balanced properly when put on. Also, you should rotate your tires after a certain amount of time; they will wear differently depending on your driving habits, and perhaps they were rotated recently and this is causing the wobble, which may go away after more use and wear of those tires.

Mankind has enough brains to produce tires that would last nearly forever, but then they wouldn't sell as many, and the already rich jerks wouldn't get richer.

All good answers. Maybe your problem is in your engine. Since it is front wheel drive and you had it checked twice. Have another mechanic check your pulleys and motor mounts. Your harmonic balancer may be going out. You may want to check engine sensors to see if any of them are sending a faulty signal to emissions at high speed. Good luck.

hi,, a vibration at various speeds, vibration of some kind under it? hmmmmm..... get the transmission checked or get the fluid replaced if u have not done so. u might have a dying xmission. a worn output shaft bushing could also give that kind of symptom at various speeds. good luck.

New tires doesn't mean good tires. You can have brand new tires that are either out of round, or have excessive radial force variation.
Have the tires balanced by someone with a radial force balancer.

bring your vehicle to a shop and ask them to drive it with you. show them the noise. also you can make yourself look good and ask them to check the caster, camber, and toe as well. also you can have your wheels balanced too. the other thing it could be is wind noise. some vehicles get a certain noise/ vibration at various speeds, hope this helps you
