Forrest Gump, it's five great movies wrapped into one; it's a fantastic character study, a gripping love story, a hilarious comedy, a pop culture exploration, and a war epic all in one. All of which are done with the best of them, especially the first and third ones I listed, which it set the standard for. It's a beautiful film.

I can't pick a top favorite I like alot of movies for different reasons. Movies that I quote line for line and have at least 100 times if not more are
Gidget= because it's the first movie I can remember watching with my mom, and just gives you this sick warm fuzzy feeling.
Sucide Kings = because I liked the plot and loved Christopher Walken's portrayal of a mob man
Heathers =because well in my mind it was the perfect satire of high school
Gone with the wind = because it's a classic romance story and I have more but this should suffice because I could take all day long.

The English Patient -- only a few stories have won both the Booker Prize (best novel) and the Oscar for best movie. Off the top of my head, Gone With the Wind is the only other one I can think of.
English Patient was beautifully crafted, two parallel plots coming together, with just the right blend of war drama and tragic romance. Stunning photography. And that scene where he carries his dead lover from the cave....

I'd have to say The Goonies. I've seen it hundreds of times, I still laugh at it, and I can quote the entire movie. It's just such a fun movie!

I really liked March of the Penguins. It was intruiging to see what this species does to survive in the name of "love." But I guess you have to be a nature lover to appreciate that.
Otherwise a second choice would be City of Angels-another love story

The Monster Squad because its just one of those classics that when you watch them a thousand times they still remain the best. I like it cause it has adult humor, kids humor, horror for kids, horror for adults, all around comedy and a taste of good drama

Eragon!!!!! It is awesome. Some people say that it is an insult to the people who have read the book, and granted, they left out a lot, like Elva's blessing, and many other things, I mean, they didn't even introduce us to the King of the Dwarvves!!! But all in all, it ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
