Study, understand & learn the rules of IUPAC nomenclature first. They are very important as questions for nomenclature are most probably asked. If you are thorough with the rules & know how to name a compound, you will not face any trouble in the more advanced topics.

organic compounds are hydrocarbons i.e. they have carbon and hydorgen in their molecular stuctures..so start studying from the basics like the valency of carbon...wat are the other groups that can be attached to it giv u diff kinds of compounds like suppose a carbon has 3 hydrogens and an oxygen with hydrogen bonded to it itz called an alcohol..thts how it starts n mind ya its neva gonna end!!!happy studying

as a beginner you may start some really easy book of foreign writers concentrate on structures and nomenclatures. refer to morsion and boyd if you have a nice english. and you you are an Indian you xi class ncert will work best for you.

just now from n.c.e.r.t.books 9if thou r a newcomer then get stsrt from book of 9th class.
