if you're asking this most likely you don't know much about your own system and probably should hold off purchasing Vista. Continue using 2k or XP until you buy a new computer with Vista pre-installed

Minimum is 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 40 gig hard drive, between 128 and 256 MB of video RAM, and that's probably it. Go to Microsoft's website to find the exact requirements (http://www.microsoft.com).
