On my laptop some songs dont play and films in windows media player the songs are .mp3 and have played on here before but just wont play anymore and it dosent come up with an error message also some videos dont play audio and some dont play at all but some do so.
Whats wrong and how can I fix it?

try downloading FFDshow , just google this and download, this helps windows media player buffer and play songs for which WMP does not have the codecs :D

sometimes i get this after deleting songs and not removing them from the library list. Have a search to see if the songs are actually on your computer.
