Ok, i seriously made a Yahoo7 account just to answer this question. Every single one of you is wrong. I speak from personal experience. I went through an episode, and I went around 5 days twice without drinking any water (5 days, then drank a few small cups one night), not sleeping at all, and eating minimally. Also, the first four days of my ten day episode I swam vigorously for an hour and a half each day. Also, I live in Nevada, in the desert. Also, it was in September, and summer was still in full swing (high at around 110 degrees Fahrenheit). I experienced symptoms of severe dehydration, for example: headaches, anxiety, and confusion. Later into the episode I started to experience symptoms of near-death dehydration, such as dryness of the skin, and dryness of the tongue. I finally recovered from my severe dehydration by drinking cup after cup of water and urinating about every hour, 10-11 days after the start of the episode. I hope I have convinced some of you. Also, speaking from actual adults, and experts on survival, its maximum of around 8-9 days. I went more. I was 16 when I went through this episode.
P.S.- If you read through the websites, you'll find that the 3-3-3 rule is also absolutely wrong.
P.S.S.- The record for surviving the longest without food OR water is 18 days (on one of my references).
P.S.S.S.- A good lesson can be learned here, kids. Don't go along with what other people say just because you want to be cool, because you will end up simply being a fool.

72 hours is all a man or woman can last without water. But i heard this one time, a man was stuck in a jungle and had no way to get out and he was almost dying of thirst, so he had to drink his own urine to survive. Eww....gross.

Maybe no more that 4-5 days at the most, before he become completely dehydrated. A lot has to do with the guy's health, body frame size, metabolism, etc.

I remember reading a world record in the guiness book of world records. This guy in europe got arrested for being drunk over the week end and they threw him in jail and forgot about him. I think it was 5-6 days till they found him and he recovered. I think he surviver because he didn't exercise or sweat, that would definitely dehydrate you faster.
