I have a competition tomorrow, and my pointe shoes are really broken in... Does anyone know a way to harden the shank up a little, just enough so that it isn't dangerous to dance on them tomorrow? I don't have time to break in new ones... Help please!!

You really shouldn't experiment with special fixes to your pointe shoes the day before a competition with your main pair of pointe shoes. Sorry to say, but this should teach you to keep several pairs of pointe shoes in rotation. That way, if none of them are perfect, you can at least experiment on one pair and still have others to fall back on.

Get the blue kind of jet glue, and apply some inside to the box. Make sure you don't touch the jet glue!!!! It will stick and stay to your fingers... and it'll burn.

To dry your shoe, just lean the shoe against a wall of something so that it'll stay upright. Do not move the shoe until it drys, about 2 hrs. Overnight is the best though. But you have to make sure the shoe never falls down, and if it does put it back up immedietly.

If you do this at the beginning of every Pointe shoe you get, the life span of it will be longer. :)

do in basic terms a time-honored releve (called demi-pointe with pointe shoes on) then pointe your ft even better so as which you roll up directly to the superb suited. i does not step up if I have been you, it may start up undesirable conduct. in case you don't get each and each of how on genuine, this is wonderful. It relies upon on how versatile and versatile your ft are. some human beings can just about bend their ft in a million/2, yet others don't get as a rule on their container till they build power of their ft. ensure you coach out, and shop your posture even whether it particularly is a splash frightening. continually carry onto a barre once you're first occurring your ft, in the experience that your ankles provide out and you fall (sorry if that scares you). do no longer difficulty approximately it, you will no longer appear as if an fool. the human beings who extra wholesome you need to even have the means to grant you some techniques. sturdy success! :)

depending on what brand you have, some have extra plastic shank inserts that harden it. my last pair were sanshas and i think they had them. you could also try using shalaque. i'm not quite sure what this process entails- i just know some of my dance friends have done it before. hope this helps- good luck!
