it started with me depositing a personal check for $350. three weeks after $300 was taken out of my account. when i asked the bank about it, they said that it was a bounced check. when i confronted the person, he proved that it was imposible. and on top of that, the money was never returned to his account. once i brought this up to the bank. they realised that they had the wrong account number all along, but are unwilling to return the money without a deposit slip, wich i don't have. i do have the account statement. but the wont budge. does anyone know who i can report a major bank to? a group that keeps banks in line?

Corey,

Banks keep records of everything. You can get a copy of the deposit slip from them as well as a copy of the deposit itself.

I have always found that banks want to fix mistakes, but there are procedures for doing this, and I don't think a deposit slip is the answer.

Take all your information and a copy of your question here and see the bank manager at your bank.

Ask him how you and them, can work together to solve this problem.

I am sure you will get answers this way.

I would report it to the police. The bank could be charged . Also I would file a claim in small claims court

Your state has a state banking commission. Look them up under your state government web site.
