Because if they knock Americans for something we can always call them Nazi's, Just like we call the French Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys for surrendering in most of their wars.

There are probably a few Americans that would be ignorant to still refer to Germans as Nazis but I think the ones with a shred of intelligence wouldn't. There are a great many Americans with German ancestry and not all Germans were involved in the nazi party. That would be like refering to all americans as republicans.

Yes. I have not seen to many Americans call Germans Nazis anymore. I am a German-American and I have told some people this. Only one person called me a Nazi. I told them that most German people hated the Nazis, and they said they were just kidding after. I have only seen a few, but they said they were kidding after. For the most part, we know that you hated Hitler, and we understand that you couldn't do anything about him. It's like how we can't do anything about Bush. Many Americans are Germans themselves. In fact, the Germans and Irish are the biggest ethnicity groups in the US.

I'm grateful that my forefathers left Germany after they saved the Roman empire.
I still respect Hitler for saving Europe from Stalin and saving the economy and putting spies and terrorist into camps.
If only Americans realize who truly runs America then they will start a war to destroy Israel and all those evil Jews.
Hitler was the only good Jew well African Jew.
I don't care what American slaves say Nazis are heroes.
America is going to fall in a few years for being puppets to the Jews.

It is an intrinsic quality of many of us to demean others because it makes us look better. One way is to find something negative that is associated with the demographics of the person you are trying to put down, and label the person with that tag. What could be simpler than labelling all Germans as Nazis?

And, you're wrong in saying nobody is trying to tag Americans of today with the slave trade of hundreds of years ago. There's a big industry focussing on just this. But in this case, with the litigious nature of US society, it may have more to do with money (compensation and damages) than putting people down.

I don't refer to Germans as Nazis.
War ended 60 years ago.

I like to be objective.

HISTORY more interesting that way.

I have noticed a tendency for Media........
(usually around the anniversary of D-DAY)
To use the word "Nazis" rather than "Germany".
That strikes me as PC....revisionist history.
That approach just distorts the truth.

The Nazis employed cutting edge mass psychology techniques.
Germans were groomed for years.
Hitler was a popular guy.
Woman screamed and swooned at the sight of him.
Wanted to bear his child.

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF IT IS INTERESTING.

Then theres just plain old Patriotism/Nationalism.
That usually brings the worst out in people.

Or just plain staying alive.
Party membership was a plus.
To protest probably meant BIG TROUBLE.

Big Business was behind the NAZIS.

Could happen ANYWHERE.

The only people that i hear doing that are old people because its still real to them or young folks joking around because they don't really care or understand the meaning because it hasn't affected them. I see old people that still call Asians, Charley and African-Americans, colored or boy. I think that its just habit and lack of trust caused by lack of moving on.

AND.....who says that young white people are never called slaveseller anymore, i hear it all the time when someone thinks that white person is racist

Many people are very racist about alot of religions, past, present, or even future ( they think.. Omg! what are they going to do next!?) Some people are VERY hard headed and can't forget the past.. even when everything is over and every one is happy. Not just the germans too.. Muslims.. Irish.. Jews.. and alot of other religions.

Ignorance of history.

Nazi is a term applied to anyone who one perceives as a tyrant. The Germans have gotten a bad rap because of Hitler. It'll be tough to live down, though progress has been made.

I had a Mexican English teacher who was as much a Nazi as Goebels. He was really mean...ruthless. He'd insult your work before the whole class.

I'm American and I've never heard of anyone calling any German that before, unless they were referring to the real Nazis of the 1930's and '40's. Remember, in the United States we have people of all nationalities living here. We are not against Germans, since many of us are of German ancestory.
