It depends on how deep you want the cover. If you want a 1 inch depth then, it will cover 6 square feet. If you want a 2 inch depth then, it will cover 3 square feet. A 3 inch depth will cover 2 square feet.

Coverage depends on your depth. at 2" deep, a half cubic foot of rock will cover 3 square feet. at 3" it's 2 inches. This will be helpful for you to know after you graduate, too!

... and yes.. .5 cubic feet for a bag of rock is correct. if it were more.. you couldn't lift it! Half a cubic foot of rocks is nearly 50 pounds!

Good luck!

This question should be posted in the mathematics section. However, lets see.
It really depend on the size of your pebbles. Assume average girth of your pebble is 1". Half cubic foot would make six layers of one square foot of pebbles. Therefore the coverage is six square foot per bag.
Have a try. Good luck in your project.

Are you sure your bag size is correct? Half a cubic foot for landscape purposes? Think of a foot-square cube half-full of your material. I think a more realistic measure might be .25 cubic yard bags. A common tractor front end loader bucket holds a cubic yard I think.

It will cover 3 square feet at 3 inches deep. Buy in bulk the bags will weigh about 50 lbs.

It's a six-inch block of pebbles, so it would cover maybe 2 feet.
