Sociology deals with the way groups behave. Whether it be 3-3000, sociology looks at groups in regards to how the deal with situations and how they behave. Psychology, the sister study of sociology, deals with an individual. Psychology deals with the psyche, and biological factors, while sociology deals more with enviromental (things happening in the groups enviroment).

You make certain assumptions that aren't necessarily based on logic and rational thought. There could be quite a few other reasons that India has never invaded another country, and isn't it interesting how you ignore that they have an ugly and ongoing conflict with Pakistan? (It's all Pakistan's fault, right?) You also make certain assumptions about the natural progression of human social behavior based on bonobos (I've done some research in this area) that may or may not be valid. It's easy to speculate how things would be "if humans were allowed to be free," etc., but the problem with "what if" kinds of speculations is that there's no way to prove them; they're all based on the hypothetical. It's easy to point fingers at religion for many of the problems of the world, but you have absolutely no way of knowing that we would be living on a kinder, gentler and more loving planet. Nice try, and better luck next time!
