You are absolutly right. Its totally wrong and madness. This does not mean that there are some poeple who are really hard up and have not secured jobs despite searching, but equally there are a lot of people who just take advantage of the rotting system and benefitts themselves out of others sweat. A serious review to remove the loop holes is necessary.

All the best!/

I don't know how many people actually do well out of the benefits system as such, but making it so complicated is a fraudsters dream. I suspect many fraudsters 'work hard' on their multiple identities to get at the tax payers dosh.
Those who are desperate are probably so confused by the system they don't get or claim what they are entitled too.

It most certainly should be completely overhauled and simply based on a minimum income, the first action of which should be to restore sensible pensions and get our elderly out of the poverty trap.

Big boost to the economy also as they will enjoy spending the cash on their Grand children if there is any left over after covering for essentials.

Create jobs too if the pensioners had the money to spend on home maintenance and improvements, health care, holidays, days out, cinema, restaurant.

The list of benefits to us all of an 'enjoying life' grey brigade is endless.

When the Politicians, on all sides, have this debate in the House of Commons, nobody ever raises this question. I have never been able to understand why. There is a Government website where you can pose this question directly to the Prime Minister. Join me!
