YES... it definatley is. People who think it isnt dont know how much it takes. It take flexibility, endurance, strength, balance, and whole lot more. One year there was a fact that the most injurires in a sports were cheerleading so for you who think it is not hard i would like to see you do a full sqorpion double down

of coarse cheerleading is considered a sport the work ot they run excersise and even compete you must be in fit to move around the field doing flip and cartwheels to me cheerleading is a sport cheerleaders seem to run more in cheerleading than golfers do in golf and if golf is a sport why shouldnt cheerleading be one

No... It's a competition. I consider a sport must have these parts to it: 1.) must involve physical touching from one competitor against another competitor (different teams etc...). Baseball, football, basketball, hockey, rugby, lacrosse etc...
2.) or must involve moving an object (if above rule isn't met). Like bowling or golf.
3.) if players don't come into physical contact with each other, they must hit a ball or other object back to each other (like volley ball, tennis, ping pong...).

Don't get me wrong, Cheerleading is a very demanding endevor to undertake. No way is it easy to do. But that's my answer...

I see chearleading as a competition, but not a sport. I don't see golf as a sport either for that matter.

I'm not offended if people call these competitions sports though. I don't lose any sleep over it.
